NokScoot is ramping up its recently-launched Bangkok-Osaka services to six flights a week starting on 02 February 2019. Reservations for the additional flights opened today.
The additional flights, making it 6x weekly, are in response to strong demand on the route and in line with the airline’s desire to provide more travel choices and convenience for passengers. The increase reflects NokScoot’s ongoing expansion of its operations in the growing Thailand-Japan market, which would see more frequencies on the existing routes and the introduction of more destinations in Japan, according to NokScoot CEO Yodchai Sudhidhanakul.
NokScoot, the Bangkok-based medium-haul low-cost carrier, commenced four weekly flights from Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport to Osaka’s Kansai International Airport on October 28 this year. This followed hot on the heels of its debut in Japan on June 1 this year, when it inaugurated daily services on the Bangkok Don Mueang–Tokyo Narita route.
The two additional Bangkok-Osaka flights are on Thursday and Saturday and will continue to be served by Boeing 777-200 wide-body jet, configured with 415 seats. Mr Yodchai noted that NokScoot intends to boost the frequencies on Bangkok-Osaka route to a daily basis later next year once regulatory approval is secured.
NokScoot, a joint venture between Thailand’s Nok Air and Scoot of Singapore, is gearing up to spread its wings to South Korea and India as well, in addition to China where NokScoot has an extensive network.
